A private tour in the capital city of Bali, Denpasar. Experience the highlights of Bali, both old and new. Learn about the island’s History at the Bali Museum and get to an Indonesian market to taste local delicacies.
Start your half-day tour by visiting Puputan Square in the city center. This urban park has drawn many local visitors and is a great place to learn the history of Bali in the colonialization era. After that, you will visit the Jagatnatha temple and the Bali Museum near the former Royal Palace of Denpasar. Spend your 30-40 minutes here to see its collection and the four main buildings inside the museum that show Indonesia’s history and cultural heritage.
The next visit is the colorful pasar (Indonesian for market), where local sellers offer their products and buyers are busy haggling over prices. Pasar Badung is the largest market that features food, fruits, spices, and other edible goods from the entire island. You will witness different kinds of local food and exotic fruits that you have never seen or eaten before.
Your last visit will be to the Bajra Sandhi Monument, a famous monument and museum situated in the center of Denpasar, at Jalan Puputan Niti Mandala, in front of the Governor’s office. This monument commemorates the struggle of the Balinese people against the Dutch colonist back in the day.
